Companies that are implementing systems based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) stand a good chance of being successful with their projects, according to a recent survey by AmberPoint Inc. The Oakland, Calif.-based runtime SOA governance software maker interviewed 330 IT professionals working for companies worldwide ranging from small businesses to banks and large government branches in order to determine their maturity level with respect to SOA, how complex their environments are and what SOA-related issues keep them up at night. Forty-eight of the respondents to the State of SOA Adoption Survey were AmberPoint customers, while the rest had not used the vendor's technology.
