Henning Kagermann runs SAP, the world's largest maker of business software applications .
SAP SAP is locked in an epic battle for market share with archrival Oracle ORCL. And they're both competing fiercely with Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) MSFT and IBM (NYSE:IBM) IBM to be the computing platform of choice for businesses.
While Wall Street fears a possible economic slowdown, Kagermann offered an upbeat 2008 outlook for SAP and the software sector. He spoke with IBD from his headquarters in Walldorf, Germany.
He admits SAP might be hurt by currency conversions because of the strong euro, but he says SAP has seen "no indication" so far of a slowdown in business.
