For an experienced DJ, creating a “mashup” isn’t so difficult. Take the backbeat of a popular song, add the vocals or the melody of another song, and you can wind up with a combination that is at once familiar and original.
The notion of an enterprise mashup involves a similar approach. Take an application like Google Maps, for example, and use it to graphically display all the information in a real estate firm’s database about their properties for sale. Suddenly, static data takes on a whole new life.
