Capitalizing on the Internet: Network neutrality = prioritizing privilege

Johnny opens Facebook, looks around, and then continues to click on his MySpace page, but it’s not opening, or it doesn’t seem like it is. Finally, 20 minutes later, the page loads, and Johnny thinks it must have just been a hiccup in his connection. But every MySpace page he goes to loads just as slowly, and Facebook is still loading as fast as ever. What’s the deal?
Johnny and his Internet connection are suffering from the effects of a lack of network neutrality, and there was no sign of it coming either. But first, what is network neutrality and why is it so important? Well, according to wikipedia.com, network neutrality is a principle that underlies the design of the Internet (or any network) as non-selective or “neutral” about the content flowing through it.
