Aberdeen's report details the findings and analysis of a recent ESB and SOA middleware benchmark survey, aimed at providing new insights into the maturation of SOA adoption at mid-2006.
Company size plays a large role in differentiating SOA technology experience; about 20 percent of enterprise-size organizations (greater than $1 billion in revenue) have more than a year’s experience with SOA programming, compared with only about 6 percent of mid-size organizations ($50 million to $1 billion). Almost 80 percent of small companies have no immediate plans to start SOA programming, and only 3 percent have more than a year’s experience.
