Microsoft released a new version of the Windows Vista beta, its long-awaited operating system (OS), on Monday. The updated test version includes quality and performance improvements in response to feedback received thus far during Beta 2 testing.
Known as Build 5472, it is the first update since public availability for Vista Beta 2 ended. The release is not open to the general public, but is being made available to a select group of some 500,000 testers enrolled in the Windows Vista Technical Beta program, Technology Adoption Program and Microsoft Developer Network.
