The three appliances in the new WebSphere DataPower SOA range can be inserted into the user’s network to secure, manage and authenticate messages from web-based systems, RFID tags and other wireless sources. The devices are based on technology acquired from DataPower, bought up by IBM last year.
WebSphere DataPower XML Security Gateway XS40 is designed to validate, encrypt and authenticates XML, WS-Security and other messages. It also offers a firewall and access controls.
The product line also includes WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50 for application integration and WebSphere DataPower XML Accelerator XA35 which provides more processing power.
