SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN) today announced an extension to its global seminar series with Sun Microsystems addressing a pragmatic approach to implementing a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Entitled "Beyond the Buzz: A Pragmatic Approach to SOA & Web Services," the half-day seminars will now be offered in the Northeast and Midwest regions across the U.S., and will again bring together industry experts to discuss best practices and emerging standards that can be applied today to increase agility through SOA-based solutions.
Following a successful West Coast installment of the seminar series, executives from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will join the Northeast series to share how the organization is leveraging an SOA and composite application platform resulting in dramatic cost savings and process improvement. Both Rick Sweeney, Chief Architect and Steve Edens, Enterprise EAI Architect for BCBSMA will present. In addition, Carl Zetie, Vice President, Application Development & Infrastructure for Forrester Research, will join the Midwest series, sharing with attendees an evolutionary approach to deploying an enterprise SOA vision incorporating existing infrastructures. Sun and SeeBeyond executives will then outline a set of architectural principles to guide the adoption of an SOA deployment as well as share a demonstration of the joint solution.
